stok notes: pse stocks with market capitalization of < 1 billion pesos (25 oct 2015)

yesterday, i was going over my stock notes and surfing the net for trading ideas from stock market forums, facebook groups and trading blogs, when it occurred to me that i dont have a quick-reference list of philippine stocks with below 1 billion pesos market capitalization. why do i need this kind of list in my trading? hehe .. well ..  because ... i need a list of  stocks with below 1 billion pesos market capitalization! .. hehe ...

honestly ... i need the list as these stocks are small caps with either limited liquidity, penny prices, and small or virtually non-existent businesses that are takeover and backdoor candidates with ceiling play possibilities ... some of my most profitable trades in the past came from this group of stocks  ...

stok tots: possible VLL-STR merger? (20 oct 2015)

villar is thinking of merging vista land with starmalls ... will there be possible price action on these stocks based on this news?

quick stats:

STARMALLS
outsstanding shares: 8.426 billion shares
market cap: 68.9 billion pesos
last price.: 8.18 pesos

assets:30.5 billion pesos
liabilities: 9.35 billion pesos
equity: 21.19 billion pesos
retained earnings: 13.08 billion pesos

book value: 2.32 pesos

source of data: PSE website

between vll and starmall ... str is obviously more expensive  .. possibly str's present price already reflects insiders' knowledge of the possible merger and they are saying ... vll will buy str ... and vll will be the surviving entity .. or vll will buy str's assets and make str a shell to be sold ... i dont know ... will watch what happens next

i dont have vll nor str presently

stok notes: MPI/METRO Pacific Investments Corp. (03 oct 2015)

from: MPIC considers listing hospital business after elections

Metro Pacific Hospital Holdings, Inc. (MPHHI)

MPIC’s partner, Singapore wealth fund GIC through its affiliates, invested P3.7 billion to take a 14.4% stake MPHHI. GIC can increase its holdings by an additional 25.5% stake if it decides to convert into equity some P6.5 billion worth of exchangeable bonds.

that gives MPHHI a market value of around 25.5 billion pesos ... plus or minus 200 million ...

The hospitals under MPIC’s health care group are Central Luzon Doctors’ Hospital in Tarlac; Davao Doctors Hospital; De Los Santos Medical Center in Quezon City; Makati Medical Center; Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City; Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod City; Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Sta. Mesa, Manila; Asian Hospital & Medical Center in Alabang in Muntinlupa City; and West Metro Medical Center in Zamboanga.

The healthcare group of MPIC plans to acquire about a dozen hospitals until 2019 in its effort to expand its reach beyond the capital.

from: MetroPac’s hospital unit eyes IPO in 2016

The conglomerate targets to expand this to 5,000 hospital beds over the next couple of years through acquisition and expansion of existing hospital facilities, with an annual net income of P1.5 billion.
