what i read today: In this bearish market, stay invested, but manage your risk (25 JUN 2018)

 / 05:06 AM June 25, 2018
To make money in the stock market, you need to buy low and sell high. But if this strategy were so simple and obvious, why aren’t people scrambling to buy stocks given that the Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) is now trading more than 20-percent off from its peak of 9,058.62? On the contrary, investors are starting to panic, with the index now at the dreaded bear market territory.

ang putang ina ... down na nga market e ... nakangisi paden? ... leche! hahaha!

notes: "Engulfing" (22 JUN 2018)

ive been following the videos of this filipino stock market "guru" ... seems lumalaki following nya lalo na sa mga newbies ... which he specifically identifies as his target audience ... newbies na walang kaalam alam sa technical analysis .... why ko nasabi yun ... well isa sa favorites ko na booboo nya is when he identifies a bullish engulfing pattern ... what is a bullish engulfing patterm? ... investopdia says: A bullish engulfing pattern is a chart pattern that forms when a small black candlestick is followed by a large white candlestick that completely eclipses or "engulfs" the previous day's candlestick. The shadows or tails of the small candlestick are short, which enables the body of the large candlestick to cover the entire candlestick from the previous day... but to this "guru"... an engulfing pattern is not that ... an engulfing pattern to him is when a candlestick is green and is just higher than the previous days candlestick ... wala sya pakialam kung hindi man na engulf yun bottom ng previous days candlestick ... a learned newbie would really be struck by this so easily that he would see thru this mapagpanggap na guru .. pero newbies nga e .. walang kaalam alam so go lang sila ... one thing going for this guru is mahusay sya mag ingles not unlike other flipino gurus na ibang accent ang ingles .. or hindi talaga marunong mag ingles ... may itsura den si guru .. pero sorry ... impostor sya ... his favorite indicator or bukambibig is the "20-day moving average" and the "bollinger bands" ... his favorite term is "test buy" ...

my take on: NOW/NOW CORPORATION (15 JUN 2018)

stok tots: trading INDEX stoks (15 JUN 2018)

in trading INDEX stoks ....

malaki na yun 10% from bottom to top (in a wave ... yun peak-to-peak amplitude) ...

it is a rarity in trading index stocks na sobra laki ang peak-to-peak amplitude ... so if i am a methodical trader ... id be ready to take profits na kung malapit na sa 10% yun gain from my entry (assuming aabot ng 10% of course) ...

id just content myself with trading within that band every wave/cycle ...

if tumaas ng mas malaki ng 10% and i have sold na my lot ... e di ok lang .... id wait for the next wave na lang ... as there will always be a next wave ... yan yun isang incontrovertible truth na natutunan ko in trading index stocks ...

what i read today: Is the worst over for PH stock market? (13 JUN 2018)

By: Henry Ong - @inquirerdotnet
Philippine Daily Inquirer / 05:14 AM June 13, 2018

Just as a rising market needs to pause and refresh, a falling market also needs to take a break and recharge before it reverses or resumes its trend.

The stock market has been trading within a limited 300-point range since the massive correction occurred four months ago.
