i have been reading about this so called "8k rule" and napundi na din ako .. so in an FB post just now ... here's what i answered a bagito guru-guruhan teaching about the wisdom of the so called "8k rule" ;

kung naniwala ako jan sa 8k rule na yan hanggang ngayon maliit padin pera ko kasi nghihintay ako ng 8k to trade .. i started investing in 1991 .. i started with 2k pesos .. i bot 2k shares of ANS at 1 peso per share ... in 6 months i doubled it ... and i was on the way to my 1st million .. im 8 figures now trading million peso positions .. and im thankul wala akong inisip na 8k rule then to stop me from trading my barya money .. if you think of barya .. you will earn barya! just trade!

there is something wrong with the charts of either COL or INVESTAGRAMS .. or both of them ....

example 1: the 200 day moving averages of the two are exhibiting different values .... i would assume the same is also for the other moving averages ....

example 2: the charts of the macd are also different .... while the shape of the lines are the same ... the values are different  ...

how come?

ive been following the videos of this filipino stock market "guru" ... seems lumalaki following nya lalo na sa mga newbies ... which he specifically identifies as his target audience ... newbies na walang kaalam alam sa technical analysis .... why ko nasabi yun ... well isa sa favorites ko na booboo nya is when he identifies a bullish engulfing pattern ... what is a bullish engulfing patterm? ... investopdia says: A bullish engulfing pattern is a chart pattern that forms when a small black candlestick is followed by a large white candlestick that completely eclipses or "engulfs" the previous day's candlestick. The shadows or tails of the small candlestick are short, which enables the body of the large candlestick to cover the entire candlestick from the previous day... but to this "guru"... an engulfing pattern is not that ... an engulfing pattern to him is when a candlestick is green and is just higher than the previous days candlestick ... wala sya pakialam kung hindi man na engulf yun bottom ng previous days candlestick ... a learned newbie would really be struck by this so easily that he would see thru this mapagpanggap na guru .. pero newbies nga e .. walang kaalam alam so go lang sila ... one thing going for this guru is mahusay sya mag ingles not unlike other flipino gurus na ibang accent ang ingles .. or hindi talaga marunong mag ingles ... may itsura den si guru .. pero sorry ... impostor sya ... his favorite indicator or bukambibig is the "20-day moving average" and the "bollinger bands" ... his favorite term is "test buy" ...

notes: i have a new broker (18 MAY 2018)

i finally transferred today my main account from my primary broker to another traditional broker ... my broker kasi is closing shop na (well thats what i think is happening) ... i think mga 20 years din yun fruitful relationship namin (before 2000 pa) ...

my new broker is an old hand in the business ... wala akong nakikitang magiging problema naman ...  and mas mababa ang commission rate ko (yehey!) ... altho i dont mind my old commission rate ... malaki din ang nababawas kasi sa kita ko (ilan daang jollibee spaghetti din yun kada transaction!)

i still have my COL account and three other traditional brokers (i also opened another new account with another broker but thats another story) ...
